Chicken Soup for the Soul: Devotional Stories for Women -Review and Giveaway

O. K. I will be the first to admit, this is probably not a book I would have chosen to read, but... Since I was given the chance to review the book and host a giveaway, I thought "Why not?" I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The book "Chicken Soup for the Soul: Devotional Stories for Women" written by Susan Heim and Karen Talcott contains 101 Daily devotions, to comfort, encourage and inspire. Now I will say up front that I wish they had used KJV for their Scripture quotations, but otherwise the devotions are good. Just little personal accounts to make you think. How different women handled different situations, and how they look back on them now.

This book covers topics such as Faith, Motherhood, Illness, Relationships, and Marriage just to name a few. There is room on each page if you wanted to write down some thoughts of your own. The stories are short enough you can grab one here and there without really interrupting your schedule.

"Throughout time, women have shared their joys and sorrows, thoughts and feelings, experiences and life lessons with one another. The tradition continues in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Devotional Stories for Women with 101 stories of friendship, faith, and comfort that affirm God's unconditional love and His wisdom. Women will find encouragement, solace, and strength in these personal stories and prayers that cover everyday trials to tests of faith, to marriage and parenting, to service to others and self-esteem."

Now here is the best part. I am able to giveaway a copy of this book. So we are going to have a giveaway. This giveaway will end December 25th at 11:59 CST. Please make sure you leave a valid email address so I can contact you if you win. Thanks.

Usually the only chance I get to do devotions is right before bed.

I currently do not do a daily devotion. This is my goal for 2010 and I think this book would be a great resource!
